The National Rifle // Pleasure Curses // Turtle Recall At Velvet Lounge
The National Rifle is Philadelphia rock band who is touring to support the new release of their full length album, Almost Endless which was recorded with Grammy-nominated producers Brian McTear (Sharon Van Etten) and Jon Low (Twin Sister) in the spring and summer of 2012. Combining Eno-era Bowie, New Order, and recent influences, The National Rifle cut a new path through the world of guitars and synths. Buy their album on iTunes. The National Rifle will be joined by DC’s Turtle Recall and Pleasure Curses.
According to Turtle Recall‘s facebook, they are a “rock/pop/folk/funk/what/ever/you/want” band from DC. Check out their music below.
If you have not heard of Pleasure Curses by now….They are a duo (Jahn Alexander & Evan Maxwell) based out of DC/VA who take influence in new wave post-punk, synth pop and early electronic dance music. They met while attending the same summer camp when they were 10 years old and did not see each other again until a chance meeting a decade later.
Tickets for the show on Friday, March 22 will be available at the door (9pm) for $8 and it’s also 21+.
